Like our Carter mirrors, the black frame on this one makes it a striking piece. Unlike Carter though, Avington’s frame is made from painted timber and has a champagne-coloured gilded inside edge, so it’s less of a modern industrial statement and more of a classic, old-meets-new one – while the gilding might be a traditional detail, the clean shape and high contrast stops it feeling fussy.
